About Me
Photography has been one of my passions for over 40 years. I began this journey at age twelve. My father had done free lance photography since the 1930’s. My first camera was one of his old 35mm cameras. In fact it was a Univex Corsair, Univex was a American camera manufacturer before World War II. The old Univex was a 1938 model and I took a lot of photos mostly in black and white with it. I learned about the developing process from my dad and utilized his old enlarger, tanks, trays etc. Later I scored my first Modern SLR, with Pentax screw mount lenses. I put together an entire system of lenses, filters, close up rings, extension tubes and various toys related to that system. As I developed my technique and equipment I moved up to Nikon and had several of their fine cameras. These days I am a dedicated Canon fan, I prefer their functionality. I loved the age of film and I love the age of digital imaging. The new digital world has given us flexibility in our art that has revolutionized art in photography. I love it. I love my images or they wouldn’t be here. I have favorites I hope you do also. I dedicate this site to my Grandmother Bertha Lee who was an incredible painter who taught me composition and contributed to my Gift of Seeing, my father Garland Lee who was the enabler who taught me this art and to my wife Debbie who has made all things possible in my life. She has always supported my creative passions.
Photography gets me out in nature where I am best at home. In the world today there is so much anger and hostility, I want my images to be a peaceful place to visit and maybe a lesson. Look into the world for what beauty there is and spread it around, it will enrich your life and hopefully enrich others. Be an actor of uncommon acts of kindness to help strike a balance in the world.
Enjoy the images.
